Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her showbiz career at a young age. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early at the age of 16. Her fame was due to her portrayal on Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's Secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra has been involved in numerous significant international and national productions throughout her career. One of these is the British biographical film Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she has been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as in The Cannes Film Festival.
